The specialism of the Academy, proposed by the Local Education Authority to fit in with provision across the borough, is visual and performing arts, which, in its widest context, is about equipping people for a full, healthy and balanced life.
The Academy has an “education for life” focus so as to be relevant for every student, whether they wish to go on to specialise in a trade, enter “white collar” employment or focus on a particular profession. The Academy will offer a range of vocational options as well as traditional academic subjects and will strive for excellence in both.
We believe our specialist status makes connections between the Arts and learning across the whole curriculum, leading to whole school improvement in performance. Our strong and vibrant culture encourages participation and builds self-esteem, personal confidence, pride, enjoyment and team spirit.
The Academy will continue to forge links with local businesses and organisations to enhance students’ "education for life". Working with other local schools, the Oasis Academy offers itself as a unique resource to the local community.
