Our Community

As well as serving students, the Academy aims to be a hub for the entire community.

A new building gives the opportunity to include valuable community facilities. The aim is for local residents to be able to access family activities; adult learning opportunities; a learning resource centre; sports facilities and out-of-hours youth activities.

Our success will be everyone’s success. Local people, engaged with our learning community, will live life to its fullest. Our community will be equipped with the skills and knowledge for tomorrow’s world.

The ‘leading edge’ 21st century Oasis virtual learning environment (VLE) will enable a community of learners to actively engage in creating knowledge, as well as receiving it.

Our aspiration is that the Academy will be recognised as the premier venue for the performing and visual arts in Bristol and the South West. A multipurpose theatre, arts studio, dance studios, music recording studio, fitness suite, internet café and amphitheatre are just some of the facilities that will be available for use by the local community.
